Books
- Pack
either flat or with spine touching the bottom of the box. Pack
books of the same general size together. Be careful not to exceed
the maximum weight your box can handle.
CDs,
DVDs, and Records - Pack
side by side on edge, never flat, on a thick layer of crushed
newspaper or other padding. Surround items with plenty of padding
and mark box 'Fragile'.
Dishes
and Glassware - Whenever
possible, use 'dish pack' boxes. If unavailable, heavy-duty
double wall boxes are also excellent to pack these fragile items.
1.
Start by wrapping each piece individually with 2-3 layers of
packing paper or newspaper sheets. Start from the corners, wrapping
diagonally and tucking in overlapping edges.
2. Assemble your box making sure the bottom is sealed properly
using plenty of packing tape. Place at least 3 inches of cushioning
material (bubble wrap, padding, blankets, towels, crushed newspaper,
etc) on the bottom of the box.
3. Pack larger dishes as the bottom layer. These should already
be individually wrapped. Dishes should be packed standing on
edge in a tight row. Fill in all empty space with crushed newspaper,
especially on all four sides between the dishes and the box
walls using at least 2 inches of padding.
4. Add a thick layer of padding on top of the dishes and place
individually wrapped glassware as the second layer. Always use
plenty of packing materials and make sure to fill in all empty
space.
5. Avoid overfilling the box. Use plenty of crushed newspaper
to fill in the top layer so you are able to easily close the
box lid. Finally, seal the box and properly mark it for your
referrence. One last recommended step: Once box is closed, carefully
move it from side to side. If you hear any movement, re-open
and add more padding.
Personal
Computers, Monitors, and Other Electronics - These
items should ideally be packed in their original boxes and packing
materials. However, if not possible, we recommend that you pack
using high quality bubble wrap and the strongest boxes available.

these items, please give us a call.
Tools
- Hand
tools can be left in tool boxes making sure empty space is filled
with crushed newspaper. Otherwise they can be packed in small
boxes. Again, it is best not to exceed 75 lbs per box.
